Homework and More
LeMoyne Community Center’s Homework and More program offers a welcoming, structured environment where students receive academic support and life-skills development. Our program is designed to help students excel in school while building confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning. Homework and More started in 2009 and operates from October - April, Monday - Thursday, from 2:30 to 5:00 pm. This program serves youth in grades K through 12 from various local school districts in Washington County.
Program Highlights
- Homework Support: Dedicated teachers, college students, and volunteers are available to help with homework assignments, reinforce understanding, and develop effective study habits.
- Enrichment Activities: Students participate in activities that boost problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Enrichment classes include STEAM Classes, African Drumming, Life Lessons, Girl Scouts, music lessons, art classes, sports, recreation, and so much more.
- Nutritious Meals: Students receive a healthy dinner and snack every day.
- Social and Emotional Growth: We create a supportive space that encourages positive relationships, resilience, and self-confidence.
Feedback from schools has shown that our program has helped to improve the academic performance of the participating students.
